Over the holidays we had some major flooding in our home from our washing machine. Our insurance adjuster did not respond in a timely manner so Wayne Carlson took over and he and our insurance agent made sure we had everything we needed to handle our unfortunate incident. Wayne was empathetic, considerate and very willing to do whatever he could to make things better for my family. I realize it could have been much worse, but when you have any type of water damage and it displaces you for any amount of time it can be very stressful. Wayne and his wife Ronda and their staff were very professional, and at the same time very caring in restoring our home to its original state, as well as handling our emotions during a very difficult situation. We would most definitely recommend them to anyone who needed any of their services.

What a wonderful group! During the Christmas holidays I had a pet get sick on a oriental rug. I called MSI first thing in the morning, they came by the house and picked up my rug and cleaned it. MSI has cleaned my carpet, and many family members carpets for years. Highly recommend MSI of Eastern Carolina.

The entire family started having headaches, and respiratory allergy like symptoms. When our clothing started smelling like mold we checked things out. There was mold in all the closets, on the shelves the in most of the rooms, on a lot of our clothing and shoes etc. Msi came in and the only thing they did was paint one of the walls in an “anti-microbial paint”. My husband walked along to see what they would find and notice no inspection was done. He asked if they were going to check the attic and sub flooring and the guy said they just need to place a dehumidifier, paint over the mold with an anti-microbial paint and that should take care of it. He told my husband he is not a “mold alarmist” that people make too much of a big deal about mold. Then he tried to insult our intelligence saying our 1 &3 year olds are more than likely the cause of the mold. He claimed they may have sprinkled their juice on the back walls and mold loves juice so that is why we had the growth. Where did the mold come from in the first place to grow? How did they get juice on the shelve way up. my 6’1” husband had to use a chair to clean off some of the shelves and the walls. They told US just wipe the walls off with Clorox to clean off the mold in the other rooms. Cleaning that mold made us feel very ill. we visited our children’s pediatrician. We explained what happened and he said mold to the body is like moist untreated wood to, it just rots the body. He urged us to leave the house for the sake of the children. Unfortunately we were stuck in a lease. We called the Greenville environmental dept and told them what was done, the person I spoke with said in her opinion that was not a proper assessment of the problem. To get a better answer as to what inspection should be done; she gave me the telephone number of the company the city uses for mold clean up. I called and what they said was nothing like that was done, when I asked about our children’s juice causing the problem, they said that there is no way that would have caused that. The day they removed the dehumidifier, another man showed up, when he saw our children had a look of shock and said “There are kids here? I don’t want to have any part in this” and walked out. My husband tried to find out what he knew and as he stepped on the front porch, he said you see how the wall looks wet here and its green, that is one of the causes of your mold problem, he was pointing to the outside of the closet wall. He wouldn’t say more, he just got in his van and took off. Humm?. One of the painters removed the dehumidifiers and put them outside, and then he came to me and said “mam I just want you to know we are just painters and we are just doing what we are told we are not part of the mold restoration, they just asked us to place the dehumidifier outside”. Obviously they knew it was wrong as well. When Boy WonDUH came by to quietly get the dehumidifier I went out and asked him what is the the moisture level in the home before he takes off with the dehumidifier, he actually tried to come in and measure with wet paint on the wall. I said wouldn’t your result be inaccurate? he said yes but it would not be accurate anyway because of the material used for plaster wall he can’t get a good reading. I questioned why they took all the other readings and why did they say they put a dehumidifier because the reading was high. I reminded him of his “mold alarmist” statement and let him, I am a nurse who worked in the Endo dept,with pulmonologist assisting with bronchoscopy procedures and we had a few patient that were in for respiratory failure because of mold spores. I was way over due for a carpet cleaning, It had been years and the carpet was dingy and stained from pets...between the oder and stains, I was at my whits end!! Called MSI and got scheduled very quickly with in the next week. I came home that day and couldnt believe my eyes or nose for that matter!! Carpets look like brand new and smelled so clean thur the house! Look just like I had new carpet installed, I have not had any stains reappear! They also cleaned my area rugs as well, I was very pleased. Awesome group!

I had a bathroom overflow from an upstairs condo on a Sunday night and the HOA sent MSI over on Monday. He cut a small hole in the ceiling a on that day. He did not pull out the wet insulation. He came back several times that week with Board members to discuss what he wanted to do. His plan was to start the following Monday (9 days after event) and rewallpaper the walls. I became very sick over the weekend because of the mold breakout in that room. I called them and asked could there be mold growing and I was told "what do you think". I would not let these people in my home ever again.

We had flooding in our apartment on July 4th and MSI was in there within an hour to start working on clean up. I was really impressed with their speedy response on a holiday. The employees were very understanding and accommodating to the situation and the job quality was superb. I highly recommend them!!!
