Our wedding ceremony and reception took place in the outdoor patio and garden area of the Zevely House Restaurant. Although the site looked beautiful and the food was delicious, we were very disappointed to learn that the manager had booked another wedding reception for the same time and location! Our food, cake, guest book, favors, and gifts were hastily moved to make room for the other reception, and my entire wedding party was relegated to a back lawn area. My own parents did not have an opportunity to sign my guest book. Even more upsetting to me, our wedding party was asked to stop playing our dance music a number of times to allow a string quartet to play for the other reception! I worked for a full year planning my wedding and was looking forward to dancing above all other things. Further, the flowers and decorations that we had paid for remained on the patio for the other reception. My husband and I had booked the entire site - inside and out - and had paid accordingly. We were very disappointed at the manager's decision not to honor our agreement in favor of additional profits. Although the manager did make a cost deduction at our request, no amount of money can make up for the disruption we experienced. The situation could have been even worse had it rained that day, with both receptions crammed into the restaurant interior. Sadly, I would not recommend this site for future wedding receptions. For those determined to hold their receptions here, I would strongly recommend a very thorough written contract.
