We began demolition/construction/renovation on my kitchen on 01/09/14. After Kitchen Tune-Up completed about 75% of the project, I found that they never obtained the proper permits to start the work. I later found out that the workers that they had doing the work were neither licensed contractors or licensed electricians. After I confronted Garry Skinner, President of GS Interiors dba Kitchen Tune-Up, about this, he assured me that he would take care of everything. By June 13, 2014, after being unable or unwilling to acquire the necessary permits, Mr. Skinner terminated the contract, leaving my kitchen unfinished, with damaged appliances, and unpermitted. I am now being told by the New Hanover County permit office that they may have to open up my floors and walls to see if the work was done to code. This is a disaster. I called the head office of the franchise about their "guarantee" of their work and their quotes. They responded that they do not take responsibility for the work done by the individual franchisees.
