- DrywallsIn 2016, Coatings Consultant, Michael Woessner of Righter Group, Inc. was contacted by Perkins and Will Architects in Boston to provide high performance coating solutions for the new Philips Academy Snyder Center in Andover, MA. The state-of-the-art Snyder Center houses a 200-meter track, 12 squash courts, and multiuse space for a variety of sports and fitness activities. Perkins and Will has worked with the Righter Group and Tnemec Coatings on many projects over the years and were in need of a variety of high performance coatings to address thermal bridging, AESS, overhead metal decking, drywall, and other surfaces. Righter Group and Tnemec Coatings provides many solutions for high performance coating systems in Athletic and Recreation Centers providing corrosion resistance, abrasion resistance, light reflectance, and mitigation of thermal bridging all while still looking good for years to come.
- New Construction
- MasonryThe selection of the replacement coating required a low stress, low VOC/odor coating technology that could be applied to marginally prepared concrete and steel substrates. Larry Mitkus, Righter Group’s, Coating Consultant recommended RD Coatings, a single component waterborne technology that could be applied in this environment. Two systems were recommended; RD-Elastometal for any steel substrates and RD-Elastoflex for concrete and masonry surfaces. The finish coat was RD-Monograff, an acrylic/polyurethane hybrid that provided the perfect finish that is resistant to abrasion and contamination.
