I have two sons and both have attended The Goddard School! As both a parent and employee, I have enjoyed working at several locations and have experienced a consistent, high quality program over the past eight years. My eldest son is in 3rd grade and my youngest is currently in the Get Set classroom (Raccoons) and he is thriving and learning to potty train with a phenomenal teacher!

I LOVE GODDARD SCHOOL - WAKE FOREST. MY DAUGHTER HAS ATTENDED GODDARD SINCE SHE WAS AN INFANT AND WE MOVED HER FROM RALEIGH TO WAKE FOREST WHEN SHE WAS 2 AND A HALF. WE LOVE THE COMMUNITY FEEL THE SCHOOL OFFERS. THE CURRICULUM IS GREAT AND KIDS ARE WELL PREPARED WHEN THEY TRANSITION INTO SCHOOL. THE OWNERS ARE GREAT PEOPLE AND THE DIRECTORS ARE THE BEST I HAVE COLLABORATED WITH. MY DAUGHTER IS A HAPPY GIRL BECAUSE SHE LOVES HER SCHOOL. SHE LOOKS FORWARD TO GOING EVERY DAY AND ENJOYS HER TEACHERS AND CLASSMATES. GODDARD FOSTERS A GREAT LEARNING ENVIRONMENT AND MY DAUGHTER HAS ENJOYED EVERY SECOND OF IT!

The entire staff is amazing - from the teachers and assistants to the administrators and owners. Every part of the organization takes the time to get know each parent and child, and they create a flexible environment to really help each child learn and grow at their own pace but with some structure. I love getting the daily reports with details of growth activities for the day, along with the pictures sent throughout the workday. Deciding to put your child in daycare, and then trying to choose the best one for your family can be stressful - Goddard made this process an easy one and continues to deliver on their promises daily. I know my son is in a safe environment where the staff truly cares about him - he LOVES this place and sometimes doesn't want to leave at the end of the day. I would (and do!) recommend Goddard to anyone.

My daughter was at the Goddard for two years and it could not have been a better experience. The teachers and staff are highly qualified and care about each and every student. My daughter just started kindergarten and the Goddard has prepared her well for the next step in her education.

This Goddard is also very supportive of military families. They offer a military discount and work with a National Agency to provide families additional financial assistance.

great school

My son was going to the Goddard School in Wake Forest for almost four years and I highly recommend this school! My son started going to Goddard when he was 19 months old and it was a tough decision for us, but right away the staff at Goddard made us feel at home. All the staff here truly love children and safety is one of their top priorities. The school is truly a five star center where your child will get a great education. My son learned so much and had so much fun at the same time. He made great friends and loved attending school everyday that it was hard sometimes getting him to go home. Tom one of the owners of Goddard is amazing and most days greats every parent and child in the morning and afternoon by name. My son just started Kindergarten last week and is doing well which I know is largely because of the wonderful education and people at Goddard. I highly recommend this school to any family with children under the age of five.

My daughter started in the infant room at the Goddard School in Wake Forest when she was four months old. She is our only child and I was having a difficult time adjusting to the idea of going back to work. I could not have made it through the transition without the love and support of the wonderful Goddard staff! They have truly become part of our family. The teachers, directors and owner are all actively involved in the care of each and every child. Our daughter has learned so much in the past year, including language development, motor skills, communication via sign language, and social skills. Goddard is a top-notch facility that provides an outstanding educational experience in a safe and loving environment. We have absolutely loved our time at Goddard and look forward to the years ahead! Thank you so much for all that you do!

My 5-year old daughter loves her teachers and friends at The Goddard School in Wake Forest! During the last 1.5 years, she has grown socially and academically and is well-prepared for kindergarten. As a mom, I have peace of mind knowing that my daughter is having fun and receiving an excellent education in a safe, loving, and clean environment. Goddard is a 5-star, nationally accredited school. The children, teachers, and administration at Goddard are top-notch. The owners and directors are friendly and accessible and greet every parent and child by name and with a smile. I highly recommend The Goddard School in Wake Forest!

As my son approaches his preschool graduation from the Goddard School in Wake Forest, I have had some time to reflect on his experience at this wonderful school. Prior to attending Goddard, we had a terrible experience at one of the larger, corporate daycares. At three years old, my poor little guy was sobbing on the way to this prior school and I felt terrible leaving him there. I quickly researched other options and arranged a tour with Goddard’s owner, Tom. My first impressions of the school were so positive. Over the past two years Goddard has managed to surpass all of my expectations. The building is warm, cheerful, and extraordinarily clean. The rooms do not reek of disinfectant, as I have found in other preschools. There are ample toys, games and books, but the rooms are not overwhelmingly packed; plenty of room for free play for the children. The outside area has huge umbrellas to shade the children on hot days and a lot of safe, sturdy play equipment.

My father was in law enforcement, so I am always looking for the loopholes in security. This is one of the biggest advantages of Goddard in Wake Forest. The school is separated from Rogers Road by a trench that would be insurmountable by a car, even if one happened to stray from the road. In addition to black wrought iron fencing, the school maintains lovely bushes and trees that make the schoolyard nearly imperceptible by passing traffic. When entering the lobby through the main door, there are windows into the two offices – one belonging to the owner and the other for the director and assistant director. Beyond the windows is the secured door to enter the school. Almost every day the owner Tom is in the lobby greeting each parent and child as they enter the school. This is the highest level of security to me. As polite parents, we know how often it seems correct to hold the door open for another parent – regardless of security concerns. Tom ensures that this does not happen during the busiest time periods by acting as gatekeeper for the school. The same level of security applies during the most important part of the day – picking up your child. My son’s grandparents came by to pick him up one afternoon and they were asked to provide ID, in order for Goddard to release my son to them. Even though his grandparents may have been familiar faces, the Goddard staff does not take chances with your child.

I am a high school English teacher, so my expectations for his learning goals were very high, in addition to the loving care and safety Goddard provides. The teachers provide structure and learning activities, but do not quash the children’s inherent curiosity to explore. The teachers maintain a portfolio of student work and also provide daily reports on the activities for the day. This allows parents to discuss and extend the learning that happens in the classroom. My son can be quite shy, but the teachers always find ways to coax him out of his shell without pressure. He is very proud of his accomplishments and has many positive comments to share at the end of every day. I have great relationships with all of his teachers and they always share any concerns with me the day that the concern arises. I am certain that his growth in this positive educational environment will help him so much when he enters kindergarten next year.

My son has had a wonderful experience at Goddard in Wake Forest. He loves his teachers and has made good friends with his little buddies in his class. I was very worried that when I went back to work I would have to feel guilty about how my son spends the majority of his days. I feel so lucky that we found this preschool, because he always looks forward to going to school. And, I have never once felt “mommy guilt” when dropping him off. This positive experience will likely have a life-long impact on my son’s overall approach to school and learning.

Our daughter attends The Goddard School in Wake Forest NC. It is by far the best early childhood education center we have had the pleasure of attending in the area-- and we will let her for sure, finish out her preschool career there. Goddard's focus on the whole child and learning in the moment hits home for us because it allows children to develop as an individual and find their likes/dislikes and hone in on what they are passionate about. There are other schools out there that have the look and feel of "hot houses" for children--Goddard is the complete opposite. There is loving, caring staff that have the depth of early childhood education that by far surpasses other centers. She is happy and fufilled and that makes for happy parents. She always is brimming with fabulous things to share about her day. We highly recommend The Goddard school because they raise the bar on the early childhood development experience.

Our son attends The Goddard School in Wake Forest and we could not be happier!!! The staff there have all been amazing :) I have read some past reviews about teacher turn over and to be honest the turn over has not bothered us at all. It seems to be if there is turn over it is always with good reason, as long as they continue to hire great teachers with each "replacement" (which they have been!) we will continue to sing their praises!!! If you are looking for a great school to send you children to where they care about not only the kids but the families too you have found your place!

My daughter has been going to ...

My daughter has been going to The Goddard School for about a year and we are so very happy with the school. The teachers and administrators are really wonderful and definitely show a lot of care when it comes to the children and the families. At our previous center, the director was barely ever there, and if she was, she would never greet us. At this school, the administration and the teachers are so friendly!

I've read the other reviews around the web and I understand if someone had a bad experience, but they are certainly the minority. All of the other parents that I've talked to have been so happy here. I know my family recommends this school to everyone we know.

It's definitely worth the time to check out this school. We are one happy family!

The Goddard School in Wake For...

The Goddard School in Wake Forest will tell you everything that you want to hear, but will not deliver on any of it. They have high turnover on teachers. They do not take cleanliness seriously. The bathrooms always smell and illness spreads faster than any other child care facility. They are primarily a daycare and not a preschool.

Our son left this school this ...

Our son left this school this summer. We would have removed him earlier, if not for the friends that he's made and we didn't want him to have to make multiple transitions in the same year.

This school suffers from terrible turnover. Apparently, there's always an excuse, but >100% annual turnover is nothing but a bad indication that the facility is very poorly managed, esp when compared to what the turnover rate is like in other schools in the neighborhood. If you want to send your kids here, I ask you to find a parent who sends or has sent their kids and get that information verified. The lady up front will of course say that all is wonderful - as she told another neighbor that they haven't had any turnover issues just this summer.

We have met some great teacher...

We have met some great teachers and families while our daughter attended this school. That being said, there is (or has to be) something wrong. They just can't seem to keep teachers and as our daughter reached the older classes, there were multiple teaching teams that turned over in a given year. The focus is clearly on efficiency and NOT on keeping their staff happy. The kids are constantly being shuffled around while the administrators try to stay one step ahead of state mandated student/teacher ratios. We will not be sending our next child to this school and I would be very hesitant to recommend this organization.

My two children ages 3 and 4 have been at The Goddard School since they opened their doors in 2007. The owners are always availabe and so loving and caring towards my girls. They think of them as extended family. The teachers are unbelievable with the exeption of one that was fired and rightfully so. She wasn't in the same league as the other staff. I happen to know that the only bad review on here is from that teachers husband. Don't put too much thought into the rantings of a lunitic. WE LOVE THIS SCHOOL, and you will too!

I am so Pleased

I toured everywhere in the area!!! Their was no comparison. It is a 5 star center and going through National Accredtation in order to separate themselves from other preschools. The other centers were a business, with little knowledge of children and their needs. Goddard has only 4 year degreed lead teachers and Asst. Teachers with bachelors and Associates degree. The teachers are teachers and not just baby-sitting. They love their job and it shows!! Thank you for all you do!!
