The owner Maxi took extremely great care of my Jeep Liberty. Even found other issues such as a loose break pedal and fixed it for me. Top notch service and good people.

STRATFORD – The owner of a local body shop was charged with animal cruelty after police said they found two dogs tethered in the sun without food and water.

Police said one of the dogs appeared to be dehydrated and in poor condition.

Trevor Maximin, 50, owner of Maxi’s Auto body on Honeyspot Road, was charged with cruelty to animals, illegal tethering, failure to license dogs and failure to vaccinate dogs for rabies.

Police said on Wednesday they got a complaint of a sick dog outside the auto body shop. On the side of the shop police said they found a black and white dog tethered to a car lying on the hot pavement. They said the dog was filthy, unresponsive and had a rash on its stomach and legs. Just behind this dog was another tethered to a fence without access to water.

Police said they took the black and white dog to the Snowflake Pet Center where it was found to be suffering from severe dehydration and an infection.
