Donald Molenaar, MD, MPH, is a board-certified occupational medicine physician with extensive experience in clinical care and corporate medical services.His expertise includes treating and managing work-related injuries, medical surveillance and hazmat exams, physical exams and hearing conservation evaluation.Before joining UC San Diego Health in 2016, Dr. Molenaar was a disability assessment physician with Minneapolis VA Health Care System. He is a former corporate medical director for Bayer Corp. in Pittsburgh and Unocal Corp. in Los Angeles (now part of Chevron Corp.). He also served on the staff of the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, where he provided executive exams and other employee health services.Dr. Molenaar completed a fellowship in occupational medicine and public health at Johns Hopkins University. He completed residency training in internal medicine at Northwestern University and Johns Hopkins Hospital and earned his medical degree from Mayo Medical School. In addition, he holds a masters degree in public health from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
