One of my favorite places to eat and have company events. the staff is helpful and know what they are doing. Downtown Sacramento is crowded and that makes things harder. The food is good.

Great hotel, cheap rates and great service. Even the breakfast was so nice. Rooms were clean and that's the only thing that iss important for me.

Hotels in Sacramento were good, but this one is the nicest I ever stayed. This is really great. Quiet, big and clean.

Not a 4 Star Hotel....

This Hotel deserves a 2 1/2 star when you factor in service. Let me start out by saying that this hotel has RUDE management, especially at the two restaurants on site. I found it extremely offensive and somewhat condescending how nearly all the salaried employees would talk down to us Guests, especially younger business professionals such as myself. Many of the hourly employees were friendly which is why I went 3 stars. I also wanted to say that Auto Club Diamonds and actual STARS are not the same thing.

In short, let me tell you about my trip:

Not a Real Lobby, the only entrance is through the Valet doors, no Formal Entrance, and it was a strange and unwelcoming rectangular shape which made it feel small and crunched.

Booked online, no problem. Used the "E-Concierge", what a mistake! Asked for 3 things: A mini fridge, extra towels, and a Super Shuttle back to the airport. Got the shuttle, that was it. Upon check in, the lady had no idea how to run a credit card, as I had more than the credit available but claimed it was declined, so I gave her my debit card which she claimed was declined again..there was enough in there to stay for 3 months so WRONG answer. She finally got it to work and pointed to the elevators and said 9th floor, have a good stay. Next, I go up to the room, 1 bath robe but 2 people staying--no big deal, but no fridge (which I needed for New Year's Eve and booked a month and a half in advance) so I called the number on the card by the minibar and got a surely lady who said they may not have any left, I'll call you back if we don't. Then about 20 minutes later Maintenance brings one up and he was very friendly. I then rushed out to pick up my Guest also coming from out of town and just barely made it.

We went to the Breakfast Buffet in the morning, and it was nice. It wasn't the best one I have ever been too-- but they had Cheesecake and Carrot Cake and they both were EXCELLENT, which honestly, did surprise me. The only bad part was an arrogant teenage server, and again, 2 managers who were very rude. I went to get change from the Male manager of Vines and he purposely stared dumbfounded at a computer screen and then decided to play host rather than get my change--which I was leaving as a tip to the drink servers (who are basically glorified bussers). He seemed to have such a bad attitude, so much so that I may write a letter about him. It was rude enough that even my Date said I should do something.

Housekeeping ran late but she was the nicest person that I met at the hotel during my stay. I went down for a couple of drinks on my last night and a Burger at Dawson's.....condescending attitude by a Female manager, everything she said to me was so fake and labored that I rather she said nothing to me at all. I thought perhaps since so many people at this hotel acted the same way, that just maybe they were trained to talk down to people?

On checkout morning, I had an hour to kill so decided to cash in a breakfast voucher the front desk gave me that I forgot to use....evidently, the restaurant stops serving breakfast when it wants to..I didn't want much so I got a slice of carrot cake a la cart, it was bigger than the buffet one, well presented too...but not half as good, and I had to pay for it too, but I figured that.

The baggage guys were also very nice.

So overall, I would stay here again if they demonstrated COMPETENCE. It was by far, hit and miss. They need new management and to retrain hourly employees...just like Disneyland :P
