BEWARE—RINGS WERE TAKEN FROM OUR HOME, NO ACOUBNTABILTY BY OWBNERS.



My wife and I left our house Thursday morning with two rings on a ring holder above our kitchen sink on the window seal. We came home Thursday night and the rings were not there. We called Carlyon (the owner) and made them aware of the situation. We were already skeptical of strangers in our home alone and made the decision to cancel the service even though we knew an investigation would take place. We feared retaliation of the worker that presumably would be questioned and overall just felt it was too awkward to continue. We did not ask Carolyn to replace the rings, we just asked that they cover the cost of the locks being changed to provide some security, and an apology…she immediately dismissed both and said their company does not do that.



Less than a half hour later, she said a worker that was in our home had “found” the rings in the vacuum and left them for Carolyn. My wife and I were given this explanation that these two rings that were on a ring holder placed on window seal (the only item on the window seal) were vacuumed up without knocking the ring holder over/off the window seal, and without the user noticing what they had done.



Gets better, that Saturday we received a letter from Carolyn basically scolding my wife and I, stating how I falsely accused their company and how her investigation took only 10 min to determine the situation. Perhaps this situation warranted a more thorough investigation. Either way, I’m not exactly sure what I did wrong. Even if the rings were “sucked up by the vacuum” as Carolyn’s 10 min investigation concluded, that is extremely careless by the staff and warranted accountability or at least an apology.



P.S. I have still not received an apology and the stance of the company, including their manager of the call service feels they did nothing wrong.
