General Info
Curry Ace Hardware is a family owned business that’s been supporting its local community for over 60 years. Currently on its third generation, Curry Hardware is still going strong. Curry’s story began in 1945 when Paul Curry and his wife Grace opened classic hardware store stocking housewares, sporting goods, paint and tools. The store burnt to the ground in the early 60’s and the current Quincy store property was purchased from the Hartford Railroad in 1963 and built in 1964. Paul’s nine sons and daughters all played a part in the business growing up. Learning as he went, Paul formed the special personality of Curry Hardware that is now widely known throughout the South Shore. In 1975 Paul’s wife Grace took ill and he sold the business to his son Bob. Bob expanded the store and opened a second location in 1986 in Braintree. Bob and his son, Sean, currently own the business together and are looking forward to their continued expansion in the South Shore with their most recent opening in Hanover. Curry Hardware continues to embrace their differences from the megastores by maintaining the kind of everybody-knows-your-name environment that has long been the reputation of local hardware stores.
