General Info
Pulse Staging is the best and the first sustainable AV Staging company in the United States. And we definitely have some of the coolest gear available. But, in a company infused with passion, vision, and commitment to service, we are more than the sum of our technologies. Pulse is about people. We are passionate about building dynamic event partnerships. We know that through our business of creating breathtaking productions we can have a positive effect on our world. With service that spans the nation, our reach is far. And we intend to use that reach for the good of the people who work with us, our industry and the people we serve. For more information on our Journey to Sustainability, please visit our story here: Green A/V You can also download "Best Practices for Sustainability in the Audio Visual Industry." A San Diego native, Midori graduated cum laude from San Diego State University with a degree in International Business and a minor in Japanese. She is a Phi Beta Kappa alumna and President-Elect of the SDSU Business Alumni Network as well as the 2009 recipient of the Lamden Rising Star Award. She seeks out and hires women for her events and future plans include creating a scholarship to support the limited number of women in the AV industry. Midori cultivates her support for women business owners with membership in NAWBO and the Women's Global Network. She is the Vice-Chair of the AV committee for the US EPA's Green Meetings Standards and was the co-chair on sponsorship for the Green Meetings Industry Council. She is a Platinum Speaker for Meeting Professionals International on the subject of Corporate Social Responsibility. Her efforts for transforming the staging industry earned a finalist position in the Net Impact annual Green Challenge. Currently she works and resides in Escondido with her husband and children, Coleman and Molly. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, horseback riding and co-driving the world's first Veggie-oil race car! Michael Karp is more than the heart and soul of Pulse Staging. He is the set of legs that gets each and every job done...and done perfectly. His love of technology, excellent sense of humor and uncanny ability to rectify a problematic situation on the fly has earned him industry accolades. After 18 years of staging events, there is essentially no challenge he can't surmount and ( as his clients know ) always with a laugh.
