Mothers Day Buffet

We have heard of Salty's for years and have wanted to try it for years. We have read the reviews and saw the cars lining Marine Dr. So my girls took me and my mother out for Mothers Day. We were all VERY EXCITED. They were unable to get in until 8 pm. We were so disappointed. They were serving “OLD BREAKFAST BRUNCH FARE. Which included some watered down seafood, dry bread and over cooked pasta, and mussels that were so dry and salty. The only thing fresh was the omelets, pork roast and fruit. The desserts were dry and kinda tasteless and all this fun for only $40 ea. The service was fantastic. We couldn't beat the view. But will not go again. Unless we order off the menu. And we’ll not recommend it unless you go before 2 pm. And know right off if you book late your going to get END OF THE DAY FOOD. Not what you expect for $40 per head. You expect fresh and rotated food even if you’d prefer a dinner buffet to a breakfast one.

Our family went to Salty's for...

Our family went to Salty's for dinner and their name describes their food to a tee, SALTY!!!! We had oysters for appetizers and that was the best part of the meal ( probably because all they had to do was open it). But it did take them 18 minutes to bring them out. Our chowder came out next, 22 minutes after the oysters were taken away. Then we waited and waited for our entrees, about 40 minutes. Seven of us got out entrees that were at best warm, and the eighth had to wait another 5-7 minutes. I know our waitress knew our food was taking long because she was avoiding our table. Or it might be because of the automatic gratuity she knew she was getting. If you don't mind paying fine dinning prices for salty, warm food and mediocre service I recommend Salty's.

Excellent seafood on the Columbia River with a wonderful waterfront view

Service is also excellent and while the dinners are on the high end they are worth the price.

Lunch on a Stormy Afternoon

On a recent day when the weather changed every few minutes the setting in Salty's enhanced a wonderful lunch. We were seated promptly at a table where we could easily view the water. The waiter was very experienced and answered questions about the menu. The food was not only tasty but beautifully presented. We would definitely return.
