He will sell you a good presentation of himself and his work, but once he is paid in full for the completed job. After a couple of months he installed, retread stairs and refinished the floors problems started to arise. I called him and told me he will take care of the matter, still no repair after waiting patiently for 6 months at least. Then one of the retread stair started to splinter, so I called him and again told he will stop one day. After many calls and email still no repair, return phone call or email. He is just a liar and doesn't keep his promise. Stay away from this business!!!!

Mr. Maire was hired to finish my stairs and den floor. We had the floors stained by him and there a couple of spots where he missed, one is on the stair tread and I see it everyday, it looks like a finger print. His website says he specializes in making old or damaged floors look like new. My stairs, which previously had carpet, do not look new. There are several holes and gouges that were not filled and look horrible. the edges of the bullnose of the treads are rough like they weren't sanded well. All the top coats have tons of dust particles in it like he barely vacuumed and certainly didn't use any kind of tac cloth to get the dust off. He installed flooring in my upstairs hallway and installed saddles in all the doorways. One saddle must have been too big so instead of cutting in, it looks like he just pushed it in causing the door jamb to move and a screw to pop out. He cut the doors to accommodate the height of the floors and of course the linen closet door which i see whenever I come up the stairs is completely crooked(brand new door, ruined). When he put the stain on the saddles he taped off the existing hardwood in the bedrooms but it seeped through but it seeped through and I had to spend 2 hours scraped stain off my floors trying not to ruin them. He also got poly all over my bedroom door handles. Also, the floors all have this weird spotty quality if you look at them in the light, as if water was spilled and dried without being wiped up. If somebody's been doing something for 40 years, you'd think they would've perfected it by now, or as close to perfection as possible. My neighbor asked me for a recommendation for a floor guy, so that's one job he didn't get because of his inattention to detail.
