This is the 1st time I had ever been to Sophia s Nail Spa, and it will be the last!! I They were very unprofessional! I called Saturday about 6pm to make an appointment and I was told that they could fit me and my Mother-in-law in at 7pm. I was pretty impressed at that point. Walking up to the door I noticed they closed at 7 so I was kind of confused, but after waiting 5 minutes, we were called to the back. The chairs were decent and the water was amazingly hot which I loved, so I thought this was going to be great.. The owner went out of the way to make an appointment after hours and it was a good start. As the pedicure started the Spa part of Sophia s Nail Spa was demolished. The nail technician apologized about her 2 children being there. But when you are getting a pedicure you are supposed to relax and enjoy it. I was away from my child so I didn t want to hear anyone else s child screaming and running around. The nail technician had to keep stopping to discipline her children and had to keep telling them to stop. She was nice and I understand stuff happens so I was able to overlook all of that. The pedicure was alright, you could tell that she was new. When I got home and took a closer look at my feet you could see that my toe nails were cut uneven and the polish didn t look like the professional quality that you would expect. I will try to post a picture. There was polish on my toe that she tried to remove but was still there and there were a couple of spots where they didn t get polish on the sides. I also have a couple cuts on my toe from where my nails were trimmed on the side. When I went to pay for everything the owner, Sophia put a piece of clear tape on my debit card scan strip because she said it wouldn t scan. I have NEVER had a problem with it not scanning. My card was a little cracked in the card underneath the numbers but it didn t affect my card from scanning. She should have never put tape on my card without my permission. She could have entered it manually! I was irritated by that but I normally don t complain about things so I let it go and left. My Mother-in-law enjoyed her 1st pedicure and that’s all that really mattered.Monday I went to get gas and I had to take the tape off of the card... It scanned that time but there was a lot of adhesive on it from the tape. When I tried to use my card at Rite Aid on Tuesday I couldn t scan my card. I tried to clean it but my card was ruined. I then was irritated that I had to pay $5 to replace my card and I went and talked to the owner. I told her my problem with my card and pedicure. I asked for a refund of my pedicure and a replacement card which would have been how much my tip was that I left. And she immediately said that my card was already not working… which wasn’t the case. It just didn t work at hers. She offered to repaint my toes but she wouldn t refund my money for just my pedicure. I didn t even ask about my Mother in laws pedicure it was just as BAD. =/ But she was happy and didn t know any better so I didn t care. I refused having her repaint my nails because it is kind of like if you are out at a restaurant and you find hair in your food. Would you order more food? NO! The experience is ruined and you don t want a repeat. Needless to say I am very disappointed in the owner and her business for not righting a wrong. I felt I should let everyone know so they won’t have to experience what I did. I guess I am still on the hunt for a pedicure place I can call my regular pedicure place. (I will also include a picture of my pedicure.
