General Info
Ceramic coating is a liquid sprayed coating applied at Shoreline Coatings in CT which has extreme temperature stability and is ideal for high temperature applications like exhaust manifolds, headers, and turbochargers. The coating provides a thermal barrier between the hot exhaust gasses and the exhaust, dissipating heat away from the engine and right out the tailpipe which results in lower and more reliable engine temperature, longer component life, improved exhaust heat flow and ultimately more horsepower – but best of all – a great looking exhaust! Ceramic Coating Applications Ceramic coatings can be applied in 2 ways – “Line of sight” which works well as a dress up with improved heat dissipation capabilities. This means that the coating will be applied to all visible areas of the header. This keeps the heat inside of the metal of the primaries and inside exhaust, resulting in lower engine compartment temperatures. Ceramics can also be applied to the entire length of the inside of the primaries, providing the best thermal barrier possible. This is more expensive and recommended for race specific applications. Cerakote is a liquid applied ceramic/epoxy hybrid coating engineered specifically for firearms. It is applied in thicknesses of 1 mil (1 mil = .001″) so it can be applied on nearly every surface of a firearm (including bolt threads and tolerance critical areas), with the exception of the inner barrel. Cerakote can also be used on non- firearm items such as knives, flashlights and any other items that demand high durability and thin film thicknesses. Shoreline Coatings specializes in Cerakote application for manufacturers and distributors. Our Custom designed ovens, conveyor line and climate controlled spray booth allow for lightning fast turnaround and color/gloss level consistency for any size batch load. Our unique business model also allows us to complete extremely complex, one-off coatings such as detailed camouflage, custom masking, multiple colors, engraving, and custom firearm builds through our sister company Mad Pig Customs. Located within our Shoreline Coatings facility, Mad Pig Customs LLC is the custom shop that makes one of a kind firearm works of art. www.madpigcustoms.com At Shoreline Coatings firearms and responsible gun ownership runs deep in our veins. We are a licensed Federal Firearms type 07 Manufacturer with SOT which allows us to coat any standard or NFA regulated firearms. We have significant experience with many firearm types including pistols, rifles, revolvers, suppressors and machine guns. Shoreline Coatings and Mad Pig Customs are both factory trained and Cerakote Certified application facilities. Durable and long-lasting, we use abrasive media such as aluminum oxide for use in blasting, grinding, surface preparation and blast cleaning. Aluminum oxide has a high toughness and hardness making it ideal for industrial media blasting projects such as cleaning turbine blades and engine parts. It’s quick cutting action is effective on difficult to remove debris from hard metal surfaces, as well as engraving monument markers and for anti-skid / non-slip applications. This can be used on a variety of items, for example preparing rusted wrought iron fencing, metal patio furniture or metal hand railings for painting. Other uses include paint removal, oil or scale removal from industrial equipment, pipes, pump and turbine parts and more. Glass Bead Blasting Also known as shot peening, our glass bead blasting services provide a considerable increase in part life due to corrosion and cracking. Glass bead media blasting creates a uniform layer on metal surfaces enabling them to distribute stress evenly along the surface. It is commonly used in advanced aircraft designs.
