Kellari Taverna is located in the heart of New York City, three blocks from Grand Central Station, Times Square and the Theater District. The dining room decor evokes a subterranean wine cellar designed with contemporary elegance. Kellari features the traditional Greek taverna specialties, such as grilled whole fish, prime chops and meats, and an eclectic selection of contemporary Hellenic savory appetizers ("mezedes") created by our chefs. Our menu also features a variety of Greek cheeses, baked or flamed 'Saganaki' style, as well as a selection of Raw and Marinated seafood. I'm giving this restaurant this rating because I've been there before and the food was good but, I received a gift certificate for $150 and didn't use it because it was misplaced. When I did find it, about 2 years later, I tried to use it because it had no expiration date on it but the Manager would not honor it. I called prior to going since I don't live in Manhattan and he just wouldn't budge saying that his books were closed and he couldn't clear it out. If it's a problem then you should have an expiration date on your certificates. I don't think that's good business and I will never go there again. There are too many good Greek Restaurants to bother with Kellari.
One of the finest Greek restaurants that I have been. Fun and relaxed with great food and staff.

This new Greek restaurant in the midtown area near the theatre district is a great find. Very fresh seafood and friendly service.
