- The New Jersey Chapter of Prevent Child Abuse is a nonprofit organization that was founded in 1979. It focuses on the elimination of child abuse. The organization works in partnerships with local communities, organizations and agencies. The New Jersey Chapter of Prevent Child Abuse provides several educational programs and conducts training and public awareness activities. It offers Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention Resources, Every Person Influences Children, Healthy Families Home Visiting and family outreach programs. Its Parents As Teachers (PAT) is an early childhood, parent education and family support program that focuses on child development. The organization also offers TANF Initiative for Parents, which is a voluntary parenting program for families that receive financial assistance from of New Jersey. Additionally, The New Jersey Chapter of Prevent Child Abuse organizes various events, such as golf outings, dinners, conferences and workshops. Headquartered in New Brunswick, N.J., it maintains a location in Newark, N.J. The organization is a part of Prevent Child Abuse America.
