Dr. Burgess and her staff are the best. They really care about pets and their owners well being. I recommend the clinic to all my friends.

Ear cropping is inhumane, and barbaric, done by ignorant pet owners for a certain look. Cropping does nothing for an animal's overall health, there is a reason most reputable vets no longer perform the procedure. I have found Dr. Burgess to be extremely compassionate and concerned about all of my pets, feline and K-9's overall well being. You can tell that both she and her staff truly care about the animals that walk through their doors. I highly recommend her to anyone in the Pueblo area.

I have cropped my dog's ears here before and it was done very well and the dog is doing fine. Unfortunately the service is no longer offered which is not good because vets do the crop in a clean environment and know what they're doing. Now you have some people going back to the old razor blade method in environments that are not sterile and most likely by individuals who don't know what they're doing. I've seen doberman puppies with cropped ears; the guy told me he used scissors and cut them off and I'm not saying he wouldn't have done it anyway, but until cropping becomes illegal people are going to do it. The service should be offered so that it can be done right or at least give these would be ear croppers the option.
