Established in 1896, the Milton Police Department is one of the oldest departments in Massachusetts. It preserves peace, protects residents lives and their property, arrests law violators and enforces measures to prevent crime. The department supports the Rape Aggression Defense System (R.A.D.), which is a program of self-defense tactics and techniques for women that provides training related to awareness, prevention, and risk reduction and avoidance. The Milton Police Department offers several support services, including gun registration, animal control, fingerprinting, concealed weapon permits, and traffic and parking law enforcement. Located in Milton, Mass., it supports and conducts several youth events and neighborhood and vacation watch programs.
