Very bad customer service. Argumentative. They do no wrong - customers fault or issue. I got a voicemail about my apt in 2 days. I called to cancel & reschedule. I was told I’d already canceled. When I tried to explain no I did not because I was returning the call. I was promptly told they do not ever cancel unless the patient calls. How could I, I was just then calling them back to cancel. I guess they never push a wrong button. Funny this has happened twice to me. Someone has a very similar last name???? But no need for the rudeness. I was then told it would be the end of Feb. before I could get in. I told her I HAD to see him sooner due to a severe eye condition, my glasses had broken, but they couldn’t get an accurate reading for a new prescription. She said let me read his notes. When she returned I all of a sudden got an apt the following week!!!!! Go figure!!! However, she kept interrupting me when I tried to talk. I waited patiently for her to finish & then said “May I now talk & explain something you’re not reading correctly in the notes”. She FINALLY conceded.
I love my Dr but their office people are awful. None seem happy with their job!!!!

I was "forced" to use them because they were the only provider in-network for my insurance. First, I had over an hour wait for my 9am scheduled eye exam. Second, the doctor was extremely rude when I refused to have my eyes dilated and threatened not to do the exam at all -- I didn't want to do that and try to drive home. Third - they called to tell me my glasses were ready, but they did not tell me they were closing the Stone Oak office location for over three weeks. I showed up to pick up my glasses, they were closed, and when I called they told me. You think they would mention that when they told me to pick up my glasses. It turns out they carry the glasses with them when they go to different locations, but fail to tell the patient. It is not written on the receipt or web site. I'm not sure how they expect you to know the hours of the location. I'm also not sure how you're supposed to know they close for three week. The offices are 15 miles apart, and the pick up location is in Live Oak rather than central San Antonio. All this could have been avoided if they just gave their customers proper information -- write it on the receipt, but it on your website, tell people when you call and say come pick up your glasses. They sorely lack on service and were rude when I called to find out what was going on. Ultimately I had the insurance company intervene, and the doctor is mailing me my glasses...hopefully. We'll see. When they called to confirm my address they were pretty indignant.

ugh horrible

First I called to reschedule an appointment and they never called me back because someone wrote the wrong number. Weeks later when I called I had to call back and forth with my PCP because the receptionist said my referral was not in their system, when I called back another receptionist found my information and scheduled me. The day I show up to the appointment the receptionist says my information isn't in there and she didnt know I had an HMO and needed a referral. Then she tell me the only reason I was scheduled was because I told them I had a PPO. I didnt get seen cause I didn't want to argue with them but I will never recommend them just because if the receptionist can't get their information and scheduling right I dont want to know how it works behind the scenes.

I was extremely pleased with my visit to Alamo City Eye Physicians from the moment I walked in the door. I was greeted with friendly smiling faces and the check in process was quick and easy. Once I was taken back to see the physician, the technician assisting me was very sweet and gave me a quick but thorough work up. The physician was very nice and was very patient answering all of my questions and addressing all of my concerns. He explained the findings of my eye exam completely and my vision has never been as clear as it is with the prescription I received there. I highly recommend Alamo City Eye Physicians to anyone who is looking for an Eye Physician!

Horrible customer service while trying to set an appointment for FOUR new patients. The appointment setter was the rudest, least personable employee I've encountered. Even if Dr Barry was the best doctor in the state I would not take my children there simply because he allows his staff to treat potential clients in that manner.
