0when I called to make a reservation they conveniently left out the fact that they will charge extra for "early check in" and "late checkout". In fact they don't mention at all that they have a specific check in and check out time. They also don't provide food, although their website says that they charge $3 per meal, they will be very rude if you show up without food for your dog. Also do not believe their online prices, the website says a basic cleaning service is $15, but unless your dog is a toy poodle they actually charge $30. I dropped my dog off for a one night stay and bath, expecting to pay $50 and walked out with a $100 bill. Will not be going back again.
Good grooming and bathing for my dog. They were pretty busy, but was able to work me in. Thanks! I'll be back.
I had a great experience with grooming. My two shih-tzus looked better than any place I've taken them in Lake Charles. They were well taken care of. No cuts, not shaved too close, happy little handsome boys. Thanks for a great groom, they were a mess when they came in!
The bark park is nothing but excellent. I have a labrabull (labrador/pit bull hybrid) dog with elevated separation anxiety. On specific days which I have to work or go to class for extended periods of time, I drop my dog off here early in the morning. The staff is ALWAYS there, never late. They're always welcoming and open for conversation. By 4-5 pm when I pick my dog up, he is exhausted. You can always tell he has been mentally and physically stimulated all day. The price, the hours, the service are definitely worth 5 stars.
I brought my dog there and I wanted the regular cut. But instead they shaved her, and cut her ear and a few other places. I read some of the other reviews but I should have read them before I used them. In short they need to be put out of business.
I WILL NEVER TAKE MY DOG BACK HERE AGAIN! I BROUGHT IN A PICTURE OF HOW I WANTED HER CUT. I TOLD THEM THAT I DIDN'T WANT HER SHAVED OR TO HAVE A LION CUT. I WANTED WHAT WAS ON THE PICTURE. WELL THEY SHAVED MY POMERANIAN AND GAVE HER A LION CUT. YOU'RE NOT SUPPOSED TO SHAVE A POMERANIAN BECAUSE IT RUINS THEIR UNDERCOAT! IF THEIR GROOMERS KNEW ANYTHING THEY SHOULD KNOW THAT! ALSO, I DROPPED HER OFF AT 8 AM AND SHE WAS NOT READY UNTIL 2:30. WHEN I GOT HER HOME SHE WAS THIRSTY, HUNGRY, AND NEEDED TO USE THE BATHROOM. THEY DID NOT TAKE CARE OF HER AT ALL! MY DOG LOOKS TERRIBLE!!!
A FRIEND OF MINE ALSO TOOK HER DOG HERE TO BE GROOMED AND THEY WERE NOT SUPPOSED TO SHAVE HER EITHER. WELL THEY SHAVED HER AND SHE HAS TERRIBLE RAZOR BURN.

As the owner of Bark Park, I feel compelled to rebut this review. This customer did bring in a photo and did receive the cut pictured. The dog in the picture was cut short with a rounded face, and that's how she went out. The groomer used a #5 blade -- (a shavedown is a #10 blade or above) -- and she had to use a #5 in order to get the style depicted in the photo. The customer said she wanted the dog cut "cool for summer but not shaved," and as far as the groomer, as well as the rest of our employees, could tell, what the customer asked for was done. As to the time frame of the grooming, this is normal. Because our groomers DO have a good reputation and clientele, they are very busy. We intake all the dogs in the morning and call the owners when they are ready to be picked up. In the meantime, the dogs are very well cared for in a friendly and clean environment. (We do not feed dogs who are being groomed. So, we cannot account for the hunger comment.) The processing of the payment had nothing to do with the owner's satisfaction or lack thereof. We always ring up the customer before we bring out the dog to make the payment process a calmer experience for everyone involved. To my knowledge, no complaint was made at the time the dog was picked up. When I learned of the complaint that was made a day or two later, I called the owner of the dog and then let the groomer personally explain to her how the dog had to be groomed in order to achieve the look of the cut in the photo. We have two experienced groomers at Bark Park -- (two of the best, if not THE best, in Lake Charles) -- and I receive glowing comments from customers every day about the quality of their work. In my opinion, this was a case of the customer either not knowing or not being able to adequately communicate what she wanted.
