I had problems with this company, Homestead WIndows. They had no intentions to satisfy customers. They are the priciest company around and all they want is your money! SHADY SHADY SHADY. Once I got a price quotes from other companies, I called to ask if Homestead would honor the difference of $300.00 from Instant Verticals in Farmingdale. I wanted to replace the existing verticals blinds that I had, which was accepted after the owner of Homestead, called Instant Verticals to verify it. Once confirmed, it was agreed on, and I gave the half of the deposit to order it.



The day before delivery and installment, I was informed to pay the rest of balance, when questioned why it was higher than half of the first half of deposit.. the owner's reply was. "I didn't include NYS sales tax". What?! What happened to the original agreement on price? So that was the first bad sign, not to make matters worse. I implied to ensure to have blind delivered next day.



After arrival of a hour later in evening, The first thing dirty installer without professional attire came in was to use the bathroom for good 10 minutes! Which made us uncomfortable, it was like having a homeless person in your bathroom! I was perplexed!



So once all of the verticals was installed and up, I noticed that one set was shorter than from others, from the bottom, I called and finally after few attempts, I advised of the owner regarding of length cut short. He simply avoided any mistakes or wrongdoings, telling excuses that my floor is crooked, not wanting to replace the all the slats, advised to use spacers for top to cut corners and further expenses for his company. Mind you, I had paid in full and expect consumer satisfaction and after all, it's my home.



So fast forward after almost a year,dealing with BBB, and Suffolk County Consumers of Affairs, to make a compliant.. The result? On behalf of Hunter Douglas, who took care of this matter, understandably of what was going on, after viewing letters and photos. I have now new same length of blinds like all others existing ones.



The Bottom line: Avoid this company and do your research!! Deal your business else where, don't be paying for it with endless aggravation like I did!
