If your surgeon says Harlingen Anesthesia Associates (Dr. Cohn or Dr. Nagy) will be part of your surgeon's operating team: STOP everything and STOP further scheduling of surgery. Tell your surgeon that prior to proceeding further you will REQUIRE that Harlingen Anesthesia Associates state IN WRITING that they will accept your health insurance fee schedule allowance as full payment. Verbal agreements are honored by other healthcare professionals in the RGV; but according to Irma Leal, Insurance Representative for Harlingen Anesthesia Associates, HAA does not. Do not subject yourself to these abuses. I recommend you tell your surgeon to assign another capable anesthesia group with more honorable business practices.
