Hello Writers,I just can't understand how this resurant was voted so highly. Soulfood means something from the soul...something meaningful. Well...I am sorry to report their was very little soul at Renee's Soul Food. I just visited their place this past week and I was deeeply disappointed. The red snapper was ok..seasoned well but over cooked. If i wanted to open a can of red/black beans I could of done that at home. The red beans and rice was terrible...they must of open a can of beans warm them up and place them over a bed of soft rice. No flavor what so ever. The sweet potatoes was the same...open a can of store brought sweet potatoes and warm them up...no seasoning or flavor other than what u get in the can. I spent over $30.00...and I was totally disappointed...OH..Yes the Gumbo...no way! the flavor was good...but that was it...they had chicken gizzards and hearts, one chicken drumette, couple slices of sausage and 2 pieces of crab and lots of juice..So disappointed
