I love Tropicana! The line is long, but they serve you fast, and ALL their pastries are delicious, not to mention their café con leche!
But my review is to THANK them for their HONESTY!! I dropped my phone there and didn't realize until the next morning. Fortunately they had it, and a nice lady, Dora, kindly returned it to me. I Love this place even more!!! It saved me hundreds of dollars! THANK YOU Tropicana Bakery employees for your kind, efficient and honest service!

I was very disappointed with the service at tropicana. I was looking forward to having my favorite meal... Carne con papas. First, it was chaos behind the counter. The girl took my order and told me it would 15 to 20 mins. No problem. Well that 20 mins turned to 45 mins. The worst part was that when I went to ask for my order, this other girl tells me that they don't make carne con papas. I was livid... I show her the receipt that I ordered that dish. Come to find out by another person that the order was never placed. After another 20 mins and no apology, I went home with my food. Think twice if you decide to stop here. Very happy to have Porto's in town.

This bakery as mostly everyone knows is an AMAZING restaurant as well! 6 stars if i could. There main course ive yet to try because i am continually ordering the sandwiches which are half the price. Delicious food and i am so thankful i am near :)

So far, I've tasted a few pastries and five different cakes. Their cheese cake cake is affordable and very tasty. As for their "empandas de pollo picoso" ...yummmmm!!! and the "picadillo" filled potato balls are to die for. If you are in a hurry to get your goodies and run out in a timely matter, then you will be disappointed. The service is kind of slow, but the wait is worth it. Bring something to do or read while you wait, especially if there is a medium to long line. There will be a new Cuban bakery opening soon nearby in Downey. Heard the new place has excellent quality food. If the service is speedier than that of Tropicana's---watch out for competition!
