I was anchored in destin harbor and needed a part to fix a leak. I walked over to AJ's shop and asked for help. AJ went out of his way to get me the part I needed and get me back on my way in a few hours. Geat service and a Great Guy!!
I was referred to Scott Anderson at Marine Mechanix to fix the trim in my 2008 Tahoe S/F. I'm overly skeptical about mechanics and try to work on my boat myself whenever possible. My first phone call to Scott, he provided me with suggestions to fix my trim myself. He could have easily just told me to bring it to him, but offered up his knowledge free of charge to a total stranger. This was a good first sign. After performing the basics, I realized I needed a professional to take a look at it. I dropped the boat off the next day at Marine Mechanix. I met with Jesse first who immediately started diagnosing the issue. Then Scott showed up and did the same. It was apparent that they were legitimately trying to help me out rather than just take my money. I decided right then that I wanted them to perform a complete service and preventive maintenance of the boat in addition to fixing the trim. I left my boat with them and by the end of the week they had my boat running like it was new! On a couple of occasions Scott actually took my boat for test runs to ensure that everything was working correctly. Him and I also put the boat in the water and ran it around the bay before I brought it home. I can't praise Marine Mechanix enough! They are knowledgeable, friendly, and professional! What a great business! I highly recommend Marine Mechanix! The next time I have an issue with my boat or need basic maintenance, Scott will be the first one that I call!!!
I have been boating in the panhandle area for 5 years and have been using my home marina for service. Scott Anderson, Marine Mechanix, was the "backup" if the marina service was overwhelmed. After a few cases where Scott performed the service, I quickly made him my "go to". Scott provides excellent diagnostics and presents most likely scenarios and options where necessary. After agreeing to a plan, Scott communicates frequently through the repair/maintenence process, keeping me up to date on progress as well as any other issues he may encounter. I strongly believe in preventative maintenence and have full trust in Scott to periodically go through systems and engines for his advice on any work that he would recommend. His cost is very competitive, he stands behind his work without question, and has the owners best interest an love of boating at heart. I highly recommend him.
