In 1994, Wardwell Braiding Machine acquired Schnellflechter Berlin, a German braiding machine producer with a reputation for engineering excellence and product quality. In 2001 the company further expanded its braiding machinery capabilities with the acquisition of the German company Spirka. Also in 2001, Wardwell Italy was opened to extend the company s product range of automatic bobbin winders and payoff systems.
