Addison Insurance Company is one of the wholly owned subsidiaries of the United Fire Group of insurance companies based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Founded in 1946, United Fire Group is a regional carrier with more than half its business coming from nine Midwesten states. It includes the United Fire & Casualty Company and the wholly owned insurance subsidiaries Lafayette Insurance Company, United Fire & Indemnity Company, United Fire Lloyds and the United Life Insurance Company. Operating through a network of independent agents, it provides insurance protection to individuals, businesses and organizations. Its products include commercial insurance, personal insurance, life insurance and surety bonds. It is licensed as a property and casualty insurer in 40-plus states and as a life insurer in 27 states. The company has regional offices in the Denver area, in Galveston, Texas and in Lincoln, Neb. It has a claims office in New Orleans. The company employs more than 700 people.
