- CryotherapyFor certain kinds of scars, surgical treatments including excision can help smooth out skin. Dry ice slush treatments, also known as cryotherapy, are performed by creating a dry ice 'snowball' which is then swiped lightly over the skin for mild exfoliation that can be effective in treating acne scarring and other types of scars. Subscision is another treatment option you skincare specialist at Brilliance Dermatology might recommend.
- Medical Weight LossFor many people, stretch marks reduce confidence in overall body image. After a pregnancy or significant weight loss, you may be left with unsightly stretch marks that you feel you must hide under loose clothing. While stretch marks may have damaged your skin, there are now effective treatments to reduce the appearance of stretch marks.

- Thyroid CancerAside from "Ozempic face," Ozempic can cause other side effects ranging from mild to severe, including nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, flatulence, constipation, stomachache, abdominal pain, fatigue, and injection-site reactions. In rare instances, individuals may experience vision changes, kidney issues, gallbladder disease, severe allergic reactions, an elevated thyroid cancer risk, low blood sugar (hypoglycemia), and pancreatitis.
- ChemotherapyThe skin of the affected area may also become itchy and tender prior to the hair loss. An extreme emotional or physical shock can cause the hair to loosen suddenly and fall out in clumps when washing or brushing. This typically results in generalized hair loss instead of bald patches. Chemotherapy, radiation, and certain medications can cause full-body hair loss. In most cases, the hair will grow back once the treatment is stopped. Ringworm, a common fungal infection, can cause scaly patches to spread over the scalp and cause patchy hair loss. The affected areas may ooze and become red and swollen.
- General Surgery
- Mohs SurgeryThe affected tissue is removed layer by layer rather than via a more aggressive excision. The cure rate and safety of the procedure, along with the ability to remove much less skin and tissue, makes Mohs surgery far superior for facial skin cancers, recurring skin cancers, or larger skin cancers with undefined margins. Every layer of skin removed is examined under a microscope to ensure no cancerous cells remain. Watch a Documentary where Dr. Weitzbuch is Featured Learn More About Mohs Surgery

- LesionsBoard-certified dermatologist and skin repair specialist, Dr. Weitzbuch, can readily identify the type of scar a particular patient has before we perform treatment. Acne scars fall into two categories: pitted scars and post-inflammatory scars. Pitted scars occur when there is a loss of tissue and are usually more permanent. Post-inflammatory scars are the red or brown spots that remain after lesions fade away and usually are more temporary. A patient with pitted scars may need to undergo laser rejuvenation treatment. The laser targets deep layers of the skin to stimulate collagen production. This extra collagen helps fill in pitted areas. To treat red and brown spots, the dermatologist may use intense pulsed light treatments. These treatments target dark spots to help leave the skin with a more even-toned complexion.
