Hugely legalistic. This is a great place to go if you love hearing endlessly about the rules and regulations of Christianity. How often to pray, how often to read the Bible, how you're bad if you're not praying and reading the Bible on a constant basis, how you're bad if you're not witnessing, how many people have you won to Christ, how many doors have you knocked on, are you witnessing at work, how to dress (if you're a woman), your thought life, your secret home life of sin and debauchery the other six days a week, drinking is bad, movie theaters are bad, the internet is bad, music is bad unless it's antique hymns sung to NO percussion, wives should submit to their husbands and pop out tons of kids, oh and forget about taking communion if there is ANY question you have unconfessed sin because God will then put it on his calendar to kill you. Guilt trips are fun, people! I could go on but it's twisted and depressing. Then on the other side of their mouth they say how they are NOT legalistic and insist it's all about freedom in Christ and the love of Jesus and how they have a personal relationship with him and isn't it great to have grace, etc. Confusing if you aren't familiar with these kids of tactics.

The pastor (who will never do a sermon about gluttony, trust me - beware of any pastor who wears his hypocrisy around his waist) will smile in your face but won't remember how long he's known you and you won't get much one-on-one time with him (not that you'd want it) and no one here really knows one another in a very personal sense - just as fellow Christians. It's great to talk about the Bible and woodworking and potlucks and raising kids and gardening and so-and-so bought a new car and whatnot but it gets old quickly when you realize they do pretty much the exact same thing Sunday after Sunday after Sunday ad infinitum, punctuated by a few holiday picnics and men's retreats. (Women's events consist of teas and luncheons; the men get to go mountain climbing and fishing. If you have no kids there's no ministry for you at all but you must have lots of extra time to mow the church lawn.) If you don't want to hang yourself from a shower rod out of sheer boredom and depression, you're probably simple-minded enough to love this place. That is, until you realize one day that the pastor is doing a sermon specifically about you. And it's not one of praise.

Also pay attention to the accounting practices, where they use the church husbands to do all the handiwork and maintenance around the place and hoard tithe money in their bank accounts, thus taking the men away from their families because they're too cheap to pay for basic labor like painting, landscaping, etc. I wonder if they finally ponied up for new tables and chairs because when I went there the ones they had were falling apart, the cheapskates.

In short this is a typical hardcore fundy church that's too zealous even for Rick Santorum, Jerry Falwell, and the like. It's ridiculous but perfectly representative of the IFBers. And if you're a woman going here you WILL get roped into nursery duty the day your church membership gets it's Aye of approval. You wouldn't DARE say no.

This church stands upon the word of God as the only way to live!! Almost all preaching is done in an expository manner whithout an agenda. Salvation by grace through faith is always preached and understood in everything this church does.



The KJV is used in all services and the music is traditional only. So if you are looking for a church where the content of the message is important then this is the church for you!!! This church is also traditional dispensational in its theology.



There are also programs for kids of all ages including kids for truth and pro teens. Every Sunday there is childrens church along with events that take place all year long.



So if doctrine and theology matter then this is also the church for you!!
