Unarmed Security D Course Radio PicStudents will learn the basic principles of security including, physical security, access control, terrorism awareness and emergency procedures. Skill development shall include report writing, interviewing techniques, crime and accident prevention techniques. All course materials will be in compliance with F.S. 493 and legal guidelines 5N-1. The Certificate of Completion for successfully completing this course will be submitted along with the Division of Licensing’s Class “D” Security License Application. Graduating students who apply for, and receive the Class “D” Security Officer License are permitted to work for a licensed security agency as an unarmed security officer. Armed Security Course Students will learn firearms safety, the principles of marksmanship, firearms mechanics and liability. Skill development shall include marksmanship fundamentals, loading and unloading, the 4-step draw and clearing malfunctions. All course materials will be in compliance with Florida Statutes 493 and Florida Administrative Code legal guidelines 5N-1. The Certificate of Completion for successfully completing this course will be submitted along with the Department of Agriculture, Division of Licensing’s Class “G” Statewide Firearms License Application. Graduating students who apply for, and receive the Class “G” Statewide Firearm License are permitted to work as a security officer, or private investigator in an armed capacity. Heartsease CPR & AED Course he Heartsaver First Aid, CPR & AED Course teaches lay rescuers to effectively recognize and treat life-threatening emergencies, including cardiac arrest and choking for adult & child victims. Students will also learn to recognize the warning signs of breathing difficulties, heart attack and stroke in adults. Non-Lethal Weapons Course The Alternative & Non-Lethal Control Methods is a comprehensive program that presents security officers with the tactics, techniques and procedures necessary to recognize, reduce and manage violent and aggressive behavior though alternative and non-lethal control methods. The Alternative & Non-Lethal Control Methods training program includes the Management of Aggressive Behavior-for public safety officers, Oleoresin Capsicum Spray- OC (Pepper Spray), Collapsible Baton and Handcuffing Techniques.The 4-hour Class G License Recertification Course will refresh armed security officers and armed private investigators with the skills necessary to re-qualify for the Class “G” Statewide Firearm License. The Florida Class G Statewide Firearm License Recertification Course will cover firearms safety, marksmanship principles, firearms mechanics and review Florida Statutes 493, 776,790. The Class “G” Statewide Firearm License Recertification Course will refresh student’s skills in marksmanship fundamentals, loading and unloading, the 4-step draw and clearing malfunctions. Statewide Firearms 4 Hr Recert The Certificate of Firearms Proficiency for successfully completing the Class G Statewide Firearm License Recertification training will be submitted to the Division of Licensing to satisfy the annual qualification requirement. The State of Florida requires all armed security and armed private investigators to qualify annually to maintain their Class “G” Statewide Firearm License. Security officers and private investigators that fail to qualify annually for the Class “G” Statewide Firearm License Recertification requirement will have their license suspended by the Division of Licensing and they may have to retake the entire 28 hour Statewide Firearm License Course.
