General Info
Trident Booksellers & Cafe opened in 1984 and since then has expanded from a small bookstore cafe to a full-service restaurant and two floors of books. Located on Newbury Street in historic Back Bay, Trident is the last general independent bookstore in Boston. Browse our bookshelves and shop our eclectic mix of gifts and greeting cards. In the cafe, menu favorites are the lemon ricotta French toast, vegan cashew chili, and deluxe grilled cheese. We also have a full espresso bar, a large selection of loose leaf teas, beer & wine, and fresh juices and smoothies. And, don't miss our in-house events! Author talks, creative workshops (paint and plant nights), Friday night trivia, cooking demos, and other events are held in the upstairs cafe.Trident Booksellers & Cafe opened in 1984 and since then has expanded from a small bookstore cafe to a full-service restaurant and two floors of books. Reviews
Although they've made the bookstore smaller and made the cafe larger, the place is still a charming place where many Berkley School of Music students and the others mingle with food and each other among a stack of books and magazines! I really like this place. The food is surprisingly better than you would expect from a bookstore. Obviously, however, you don't go there for the food....
