Landry’s has never been a personal favorite. It feels like the menu changes every time I visit, which isn’t often. Their gumbo is made with a signature burned roux that tastes like overcooked gravy. It’s highly undesirable and the company should consider removing it from the menu. The Fried Seafood Platter was good and appropriately priced. The Gold Burger was good as well. Overall, the experience was lesser than desirable. While both entrees were good, having to ask suggestions multiple times for what should have been simple menu options and then needing additional condiments to make the experience feel okay just makes you want to dine where you know things will be perfect every visit.

Worst value ever!

My wife and kids just ate here and my wife and I both ordered a fried shrimp platter (avg cost of $18 each) We both received a large plate full of cheap french fries and chewy over salted frozen shrimp. My daughter got a childs corn dog for $6. The waitress never brought our bread and never refilled our drinks. The manager acted surprised when I complained about the frozen meal we were just served which probably cost them a fraction of what we paid for it. We could have taken the $70 we spent on dinner here and got a much better meal at Captain Ds for a fraction of teh cost.

non-concern

On 02/21/2010 at 6:55 PM my friend and I ate at this Landrys in Birmingham. My friend had a glass of wine where there was a sliver of glass on the of the side of the wine glass. She discovered this sliver of glass when it penetrated her lower lip. When we brought this concern to our waitress she showed very little concern and brought us another glass of wine. Not at one time did I see a manager nor did a manager ever become concerned about our issue. I don't even know if a manager was on duty. Since then I have not eaten at a Landry and really have no plans to ever eat at a Landry's again. I can understand how a sliver of glass could might get attached to the glass. However, I can't understand the lack of interested by the waitress and the Manager. Very poor customer service.

Dine Somewhere else!!!

I took my grandmother out to eat to Landry's Seafood in Birmingham, Alabama. It was the first time for both of us. The service was great however, our entrees where not up to par. My grandmother had a seafood platter (21.99) which I feel was overpriced for the quality of food. The vegetables were burnt and bitter. The seafood was not fresh. The onion rings were greasy. The crab cake and shrimp was fried too hard. My meal was the catfish dinner (16.99) and it looked like someting that came from CAPTAIN D's. We complained to the kitchen manager and was only offered a free dessert. We declined. The manager took only took $6.00, leaving us with a 36.00 bill. WE ONLY ATE A SMALL PORTION OF THE FOOD. AFTER THAT WE WENT TO MCDONALDS. VERY POOR FOOD QUALITY. WILL NOT RECOMMEND TO FRIENDS.
