Never disappointed me once. They also have their bakery shop on the first floor with great macarons.

Enjoyed a long workday lunch h...

Enjoyed a long meal with some coworkers. We were taking advantage of dineLA week, with prix fix menu and prices. Note - they have items on the menu that you have to pay extra for (why even bother having it on the menu if you're going to have to pay more than the prix fix in the first place).

I chose a green salad for my first course, and the steamed mussels as my second. The salad was tasty and had a light olive oil vinagarette dressing paired with some goat cheese. Really simple, kinda boring. But, the mussels were delicious!! It was cooked in a wine-garlic-buttery reduction and served with their pommes frites (french fries).

Pros- Great area to hang out in, in the heart of Beverly Hills. There's a large underground parking structure next door to the restaurant and Montage hotel.

Cons - Really slow service. My water was rarely filled, and our drinks that were supposed to be paired with our dishes were not served with the actual dish. We had to wait at least 5-10 minutes post serving to get our drink. By that time our food was cold. The point of having a wine pairing is to enjoy the meal WITH the wine. Even the time it took to get our check was a bit slow.

Overall, I expected better service and better food for this high-class top-rated chef's restaurant.

Went here for dineLA lunch. We started with bread and it was really good.

First course: chicken liver mousse. Since we can no longer eat Foie Gras in California, I was happy that they had this dish as one of the choices; it's not exactly like Foie Gras but the texture and taste is similar and it was good.

Second course: flatiron steak. It was good but it was not the best steak I've ever had. Plus, this dish was extra +$5. My cowoker had mussels and it was tasty, which I think would've been a better choice.

Third course: caramel custard. Just a regular custard pudding. It was good but nothing special.

You get to choose either 2 courses only for $25 and 3 courses for $29. I would recommend just doing the 2 courses and if you want to eat dessert, share one dessert from regular menu.

Overall, the dineLA deal menu at Bouchon is a good deal but if you want to try good French food, my #1 choice is still Petrossian Paris Restaurant & Boutique.

fun birthday party

I went here for a birthday party. It was a lot of fun. The bartenders are awesome and so nice and informative! The place is small so it seemed a bit cramped at times, but with the doors open to the patio, there was room to spill over. The drinks were very good. I liked the Moscow Mule, vodka and ginger beer. Also had a bite of the chocolate mousse which was divine. Heard that the mac and cheese was also yummy. Would like to come here again.
