This place isn't the best I've ever been in Buckhead, but it's so convenient to where I work and it's still pretty good. The salon chairs for a pedicure are fantastic and the people there are always so nice. I like that the inside is all white, very posh. Don't try and park there, however. It's very difficult.

Bad Bad Customer Service

I was thinking about booking a mani/pedi party at Sugarcoat the day before my upcoming wedding for all my bridesmaids, Mom, cousins, etc. I thought I would check it out with a friend first. I am glad I did. I called and made an appointment for 5:45 and told them we would try and get there but might be a little late. They said that was fine but that they would need a credit card to hold the appointments. I inquired about the cancellation policy and they told me 24 hours notice or I would be charged. Working for a small business myself, I understand that they can't hold spots and miss out on other clients and then not get paid. So I gladly gave him my credit card information to hold our spots. We got there at 5:54pm. They told us that one of us could only have either a mani or pedi since we were late. So I offered to just take the manicure so my friend could get both services. They started my manicure while my friend sat and waited....and waited....and waited. It soon became clear they gave one of our appointments away to a walk-in customer so I asked to speak to the manager. I explained that I paid to hold the spots and did not understand why they had not even started the mani/pedi for my friend. (not to mention that logic dictates if one person is getting a mani/pedi and the other person only a mani; it is probably best to start the mani/pedi first). He was the one I spoke with on the phone so I reminded him that I told him we might be running a little late and he said that was fine. At that point, he said they tried to call us but the line was busy. Not true since I have call waiting on my cell phone, which was the number I gave them. Further, there was no record of their "attempted call." The manager told me it was my fault for being late and that we must have had a misunderstanding. No apology. No attempt to fix the situation or offer to make other appointments. I was really dumbfounded since I told them I was planning on booking a party with 8 delux mani/pedis the day before my wedding. It was clear the people working there were dying to end their work day and were not willing to stay one extra minute overtime. I basically just paid $17 for half of a manicure at that point and we left and went somewhere else. Needless to say, I found another place to book my pre-wedding party. If someone isn't willing to at least be polite to someone who wants to book over $600 worth of services, I can't bring myself to return. Too bad because the place is cute and would have been perfect for the group party I had in mind. What a bummer!
