PPL Services Corporation is a wholly owned subsidiary of PPL Corporation providing shared services for the corporation and its other subsidiaries. PPL Corporation, a publicly traded company, controls and owns nearly 12,000 megawatts of generating capacity in the United States. It delivers electricity to about 4 million customers in Pennsylvania and the United Kingdom. In 2010, PPL Corporation acquired E.ON U.S., the parent company of Louisville Gas and Electric Company and Kentucky Utilities Company. More than a dozen PPL Corporation facilities are certified as Star Sites under the voluntary protection program run by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
