Dr. Bashkoff is an incredible person. Not only is she extremely knowledgeable and professional, but she is authentic and down to earth. After our health assessment my husband and I felt informed and well taken care of. We went into this experience feeling nervous, not knowing what to expect and we left with a sense of peace and direction. I would highly recommend Dr. Bashkoff to anyone that needs counseling... individual, marital, etc. She is extremely easy to talk with and addresses all that needs to be addressed. She is full of knowledge and wisdom, combined with much compassion and care. It is because of people like Dr. Bashkoff that others are able to grow into the best versions of themselves.

I was required by court order to seek counseling through Dr. Bashkoff for custody evaluation. My experience with Dr. Bashkoff was exceptional and found she provided tremendous insight, comfort and useful remediation for our issues. My children and my ex feel more confident with our relationship and each of us are getting along better than ever before. Obviously, the people who complain about their custody of evaluations did not come across as a nurturing and loving parent. My evaluation was a positive experience for me and my children. Dr. Bashkoff was able to connect with my children so they could be heard and their words mattered. She listened carefully and did not judge. I felt comfortable. I was able to get my whole story out. This woman is fair and knows her stuff. If you need someone to do an honest and thorough job, make sure she is assigned to your case.

My experience with Dr. Bashkoff was over a 6 month period. I was Court ordered to take part in an alcohol abuse program and was referred to her by my attorney, I took the recommendation and enrolled in her weekly sessions. During my time and experience with Dr. Bashkoff she was very professional, caring, and useful in my treatment. I did and have not, ever had an actual problem with alcohol I was just court ordered to do so. She recognized that right away and was very helpful in helping explain that to the judge, which ultimately helped me complete the program. I did, however, have a serious anxiety disorder which stemmed from stress induced in my personal life. Dr. Bashkoff was instrumental in helping me work through that anxiety and get me back to feeling myself psychologically. I have read some of the posts on here and I think the poor reviews stem from her blunt, truthful, nature that has worked against some in their court cases. Dr. Bashkoff is very upfront and I have found her to be very correct in all her assessments of my mental condition. She is a professional with a great deal of experience, this speaks to her truthful nature that probably has worked against some in court. If you are seeking somebody to actually help you get back on your feet, psychologically speaking, she is a great choice. If you are somebody that needs a psychologist to alter the truth in order to help your court case, she is not the professional for you. Overall I am very pleased with my time and money spent with her, she's a great psychologist out of the capital region. I highly recommend to anybody suffering from anxiety disorder that is ready to face their fears head on and work through them at the care of a professional.

This woman did what she wanted not what the court ordered she made my children so uncomfortable she was so rude and when she was called out that she was not doing what she was orderd from the court she says your confrontaitional and diagnosed a family member having a serious mental issue seeing him only 3times we were told she would not come to coury ti testify but comes cause she is getting paid like crazy money dont waist your time and if court ordered ask for someone else

If I could give zero stars, I would. Absolutely do NOT waste your money on this egomaniacal charlatan! Please please do your research before you choose a Dr. that has your life and the life of your children in his or her hands. She is confrontational, rude, and condescending. Like other posters have said she opened mail, ate and did other things while I was in the office with her. For a psychologist she is clueless...she wrote a report in which she contradicted herself and made horrendous misjudgments. I implore you....run in the other direction!!!!

When you are court ordered to see Dr. Bashkoff it is important to remember that she has her own agenda. She makes her money by charging $650. per person for a "psychological" evaluation and between $3,000 and $5,000. to testify. This evaluation is based on approximately 30- 90 minutes of time she will spend with each person asking very specific questions. She will then write a report on HER opinion of you and your situation. Dr. Bashkoff does not perform this service because she is compassionate or cares about you or your family. She makes her very good living reporting to the court system what she chooses. It would not serve her well to always tell the truth. If she has a relationship, working or otherwise, with an attorney, judge etc. it benefits her to flavor her report to assist them. Otherwise, she would lose business. Her behavior during these sessions is very confrontational and regardless of her bias or unethical behavior she is protected by the court system and cannot be held accountable. I believe that Dr. Bashkoff has convinced many people that she is an authority on many topics however, she is clearly a very sad individual with an education.

Dr. Bashkoff is compassionate and caring. She will work with you at your pace. She is accessible day and night if there is a need. The experience is wonderful. I recommend her highly

I have been a patient of Dr. Jackie Bashkoff for over 5 years. I have suffered from depression for over 30 years. All of Jackie's guidance and advice has drastically changed my life for the better. She listens intently to everything I say. She validates my feelings and gives me lots of encouragement. Jackie is always professional. 'She has a wealth of knowledge. I saw the good doctor (cough, cough) many years ago as a bulimic who was significantly depressed and had an history of suicidal ideation. My boyfriend arrived at the first appointment early and she spoke with him first. In less than five minutes, Baskoff insulted him for not “doing enough with his college degree,” and arguing with his reasons for wanting me to get better, and essentially invalidated and emasculated him. He so badly wanted me to get better that he didn't even tell me how disgusted he was by Baskoff's behavior for quite some time. During approximately 15-20 appointments, she was often late, she fixed her makeup, didn't take notes, daydreamed, touched up her nails, drew pictures, doodled and ate. She ate in front of a bulimic-Repeatedly! This wasn't any type of immersion therapy or CBT—It was just horrible and ignorant behavior. I had been hospitalized on several occasions for low potassium, stomach problems, anemia, and seizures prior to and during my time with Bashkoff. My father, boyfriend and even I requested admission to Four Winds and she stated on several occasions that I wasn't that sick, that thin, that severe, etc., and hence, she wouldn't refer me. Then I had a heart attack because of my low potassium, went to Four Winds, got the help I needed and after 18 years of active bulimia, I am now a healthy, married psychiatric nurse and clinical psychotherapist. If you or someone you love is being treated by Bashkoff, find another doctor. It will be the best thing you ever do.
